Ottawa - Councillor Mark Taylor, Chair of Community and Protective Services Committee, and Ottawa Fire Services invites the media to see young women training in some of the duties of an Ottawa firefighter as they participate in the week-long Camp FFIT (Female Firefighters in Training).
Camp FFIT runs from August 11 to 15, and is the result of a partnership between Ottawa Fire Services and Fire Service Women of Ontario – a non-profit association of career and volunteer women from across Ontario.
Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Time: 1 to 3 p.m.
Photo opportunity at 1 p.m.

Camp FFIT provides young women an opportunity to experience first-hand what it takes to be firefighter – including physical fitness, being a team-player and possessing a strong work ethic. It also provides young women with the self-confidence to explore a career in one of the most reputable public service professions in the world – firefighting.
