Ottawa residents have responded once again to help the flood-impacted individuals and families in the West Carleton area – finishing the weekend sandbag cleanup ahead of schedule. As a result, volunteer cleanup will end early today and no further volunteers are required.    Please do not show up on site in Constance Bay. The shuttle service from Eagleson Park & Ride to Constance Bay Community Centre will be cancelled as of 12:00 pm today.

The City wishes to thank the many volunteers who took time, or were planning to take time, from their weekend to help those who were devastated by the floodwaters earlier this month.  The successful cleanup operations for the flood recovery spanned across the West Carleton region, Britannia, and Cumberland.

In addition, a huge thank you also goes out to the residents who generously donated their time, funds, and items to help with the flood-recovery effort. This community response exemplified Ottawa’s long-standing reputation of being a large city with a small-town heart – ready to rally support behind those in-need.

Again we thank you!
