The Cleaning the Capital fall campaign has hit a high note for 2019, and registration only ends on October 15.

Since the September 15 registration start date, the fall campaign has already registered 347 projects, eclipsing last year’s total of 303.

A special group worked in harmony to help this fall’s cleanup effort. It was the internationally renowned musical touring group, Up With People. For more than 50 years, generations of young people have been part of this travelling group who use their vocal talents and actions to empower other young people to make their community and world a better place for everyone.

The group took time out from their Ottawa music tour to help clean the capital, working around the Britannia Park area on October 3 and Mooney’s Bay on October 7.

You still have plenty of time to sign up to beautify your community.Registration is quick and easy:

  • Go to ottawa.ca to register for the cleanup. The interactive map on our website will show you which locations have already been claimed, allow you to register your own project site and choose the cleanup supplies that you need.
  • Select a location such as a park, ravine, shoreline, bus stop, pathway or any public area that requires litter pickup or graffiti removal.

The deadline to register is October 15. You are eligible for some great prizes if you submit your cleanup report by October 31.
