The City of Ottawa’s 350 voting places will be open on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 10 am to 8 pm. Voting places located in specific seniors’ residences and long-term care facilities have reduced voting hours.
Electors can find their voting place on their Voter Notification letter or by using the search tool “Where Do I Vote?” on ottawa.ca/vote.
Eligible electors who did not receive a Voter Notification letter, or who are not on the Voters’ List, can still vote. “Applications to Add or Amend my Information on the Voters’ List” will be available at every voting place and are easy to fill out on-site.
When voting, electors should bring an accepted piece of identification with their name and qualifying Ottawa address. Photo identification is not required.
Lineups at voting locations are longest as polls open at 10, at lunchtime and at the end of the workday, but there will be elections staff there to help people in the lines. Electors can avoid longer wait times by voting during off-peak hours, typically between 1 pm and 4 pm.
The use of cell phones, tablets and cameras is prohibited in voting places.
