Ottawa – Starting June 11, 2014 work to resurface St. Patrick Street between King Edward Avenue and the Vanier Parkway will begin. In an effort to minimize traffic disruption in the area, lane reductions will occur only during off-peak hours. Local traffic access will be maintained at all times.
This project will see St. Patrick Street fully resurfaced between King Edward Avenue and the Vanier Parkway along with some sections of the curbs and sidewalks repaired or replaced. In addition, roadway modifications will occur between Cobourg Street and the Vanier Parkway to reconfigure cycling facilities as a part of the East-West Bikeway; this will include some minor re-habilitation work on the Rideau River Bridge.
Work will be completed by November 2014.
This work is a part of the St. Patrick Street Rehabilitation project, a $2.3 million investment to reconfigure and resurface St. Patrick Street and improve cycling facilities along the corridor. The project schedule has been accelerated to address the concerns of local residents and businesses about poor road quality and the escalating requirement for major pothole repairs.
The St. Patrick Street Rehabilitation is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
