Ongoing and upcoming road work projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:

  • O’Connor Street – O’Connor Street is closed to motorists between Laurier Avenue and Somerset Street until Friday, March 2. The closure is required to allow Bell to reconstruct manholes on the west side of O’Connor Street at the intersections of Gloucester, Nepean, Lisgar and Cooper streets.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The cycling lanes remain open. Cyclists and pedestrians have access throughout the closure. However, there will be intermittent closures of the sidewalk on the west side of the road.

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times.

  • Goulbourn Forced Road – Goulbourn Forced Road will be closed between Keyrock Drive and Innovation Drive from Monday, February 12 to Tuesday, August 28, weekdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The closure is required for the installation of a watermain and sewer to accommodate development in the area.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Cyclists and pedestrian access will be restricted during most of the closure period due to the nature of the work. Access to the pathways in the area will be maintained on both ends of the closure. Alternative cycling routes include the pathway along Terry Fox Drive and cycle lanes along March Road.

  • During Winterlude weekends, Queen Elizabeth Driveway between Laurier Avenue and Preston Street will be closed to traffic, and also Laurier Avenue from Elgin Street to Nicholas Street. These closures will be in effect:

    • Saturdays, February 10 and 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    • Sundays, February 11, and 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Monday, February, 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Signed detours will be in place to direct motorists around the closures. For more updates on the construction and road work activity across the city, or for information about traffic and travel planning, visit the City’s Traffic Report on ottawa.ca or follow the City’s traffic account on Twitter.
