Ottawa– Beginning Monday, May 16, lanes will be temporarily closed on Scott Street, from Smirle Avenue to Merton Street, on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for resurfacing. The work, which includes removal of existing asphalt, adjustment of maintenance holes and repaving, is expected to be completed by June 24.

At least one shared-use traffic lane will be maintained in each direction at all times. The cycling and pedestrian multi-use pathwayon the north side of Scott Street and the sidewalk on the south side will also be open. Bus stops may be temporarily moved during this timeframe.

It is expected that this resurfacing work will have significant impacts on traffic during peak hours and motorists and transit customers on routes 16, 86 and 176 using Scott Street should anticipate delays.

This work is part of the O-Train Confederation Line Light-Rail Transit project and Ottawa on the Move. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
